Robots heat engines

The event is already in turmoil, many robots ready to do battle, especially the minisumo that are in greater numbers.
Later began the races, for now all are busy robottari to calibrate sensors and fix the last things.
During the morning there will also be presentations from the University of Pisa, which can be followed in streaming from the site of school.
Here is a roundup of the first photos.

What is a Robot Explorer

I will try in a few lines to describe what constitutes a contest of robots Explorer, maybe trying to entice someone to engage in this type of competition.
When the robot is placed inside the competition area, it must be able to explore independently, avoiding obstacles, and find what are called sources, noting when it finds one.

Having said this may seem difficult, but in reality is not like that, plus the problem (as is always advisable) can be approached in stages.
We begin with seeing the structure of the “race field”, which in practice is an area of 2×4m on a black background and bordered by white walls 30cm high, inside the competition area there are some obstacles whose dimensions are 30×20x40 cm, the provision of the obstacles is random and according to regulation should change between each manques and even after the tests of the robots. But we see a drawing made by www.minisumo.net to better understand the layout of the obstacles and the sources.
